Current draft (MS Word): [[http://bdml.stanford.edu/twiki/pub/RisePrivate/HierarchicalSDM/SDM14-mrc.doc][SDM14-mrc.doc][SDM14-mrc.doc]] (45 MByte MS Word) This is a Windows-specific MS Word file. Figure 1 is in a format that does not display properly on Macintosh Word or in Open Office on Windows.

• Status: Nearly ready except for minor modifications to one or two figures, fixing some references and final proof-reading.
  • lightened and cropped some figures to make print better
  • some figures could be repositioned a bit... I converted some frames to text boxes for more control on text/figure positioning within the frame
  • Figures pasted into text boxes using "paste special" as "picture" rather than as MS Word object. This makes the figures more platform-independent, at the expense of larger file size.
  • Ref 12 needs to be updated.
  • Need to check some dimensions and tolerance information.

• sdm14.pdf: ~1 MByte PDF file created by printing MS Word on Windows XP to a virtual color postscript printer to get a postscript prn file and then using Adobe Distiller to produce a PDF file with "high quality print" option set. Using the Adobe PDF direct conversion function did not work (hangs and have to restart MS Word).
