  • Lessons Learned
    • We should make the base bigger (~12 in diameter circle)
    • I built ramp mirror image of what it's supposed to be.
    • Use washers, they prevent nuts from loosening
    • Keep it open for putting ramp on other side
    • If we have acrylic wheels, they will slip, preventing amp spikes that may blow the H bridge. They stick very well
    • Install off switch
    • try other motors. we are way too torquey
    • use teflon spacers to reduce gap and
    • Concerned about guide unfolding and getting stuck.Need to bevel edge and have most protruding point lower than height of wall.
    • weshould consider using the maxon motors for driving. Others are doing it!
    • Move wheel in from edge or add skirt. Otherwise it might rub against bottom of scoring bumper.
    • We need a skirt that goes both up and down to prevent above problem.
    • Use a weak spring. This will let ski guidefold back and get out of wy. This also means we might need a bit more torquw and less slippery wheels.
    • If we should decide to use tape extenders with swithces, also use timers that will trigger change in directio. This way we won't just keep running into wall if we are off.
      • We could also use a double foldout guide
    • Use thickcrazy glue to hold parts down.
    • Make sure you get the correct oorientaion, not mirror image.
    • Prototype order of operations:
      • spin around clockwise, release front ski guide
      • spin counterclockwise
      • drive forward, release back ski guide
      • front bump hit, reverse directione
      • back bump hit, reverse direction
      • This needs switchesor timers
    • Another order of operations
      • spin around, release front ski guide
      • drive forward, release back ski guide
      • use ski guide to guide around corners
    • we need to know how much force is needed to trigger bumper!!!!
    • Need to add:
      • 2 minute timer
      • secondski guide
