About me

Hello! My name is Kayla Magruder, and I’m entering my fourth year as a Mechanical Engineering major at The University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). I am here through the 2025 SURF REU program, hoping to employ my technical skills to develop effective materials for use in robotics. I am excited to spend the summer at Stanford, where the weather is amazing and no question is too grand.

Outside of studying for classes or conducting research, I enjoy playing basketball, reading fictional novels, and watching tv shows/movies with family and friends.
