Academic Year 2024-2025

I am probably not looking for additional PhD rotation and postdoc appointees this academic year except on a special-case basis.

We do have some opportunities for MS students who are interested in getting engaged in research for course credit on the following projects:

In addition there may be some projects involved with the new Stanford Robotics Center.

We also welcome inquiries from CDR Affiliate companies wishing to place an Industrial Visitor at CDR to interact with us on one of our projects.

Summer internships

We regularly have undergraduate REU students in BDML working on projects with our PhD students. Stanford offers a couple of different REU programs. For the most part, these are restricted to enrolled Stanford students; an exception is the SURF program. Opportunities include:

In addition we occasionally have hosted visiting high school teachers (example: Rob Alexander) and students under special programs such as the Stanford-Beijing student exchange.

In general, it is difficult to accept any students who are not involved in one of these Stanford-supported programs, which take care of administrative issues, access to campus facilities, insurance, etc. Hence we do not generally take any high school interns or external undergraduate interns who are not already part of a Stanford program.
