The device utilizes a worm gear and cable drive that is driven by a DC motor and controlled by a Windows PC under the CHAI3D modeling environment. The motor is driven by a DAC from a Sensory control card read into a Copley 403 PWM amplifier. The Sensory PCI board also reads the motor's quadrature encoder.
