Here is a CAD drawing of the device we're using to apply a rotational skin stretch to a user's arm/hand. The device is intended for preliminary testing.

Some of the design issues that should be improved upon are as follows:

  • Not enough vertical travel, to allow for larger forearms
  • The pulley drive system works well and is smooth, but is difficult/annoying to reattach when the string breaks
  • Because the entire system is primarily composed of acrylic, it isn't very accessible or open to changes (i.e. small modifications to the device cannot be made easily)
