From the above picture you can see that three sensors are
held in the base plate. (sensors are not wired in this figure to
show a clear layout)
Following picture shows the sensors that attached on one user's fingertips
Force Sensor Design
Lowcost point contact force sensors (FSS1500NST? , Honeywell Inc.) are used to build the force plate. They are embedded in a cast urethane plate. To improve accuracy and make the fingertip force sensor less sensitive to the point of application of the contact force, the signals from three point-contact sensors are summed to obtain the resultant force on the plate.
