Mark's Office hours and advising
Feb 2026: There have been a lot of students interested in the summer ME SURI and other REU programs this year. We have historically been able to take on 3-4 SURIs and 1-2 other REU students. We especially encourage students with any design (e.g. per Stanford's ME102/ME103/ME104 sequence), robotics (e.g. FIRST), or space (e.g. Stanford SSI) technology experience. REUs typically work closely with one or two PhD students designing new equipment and conducting tests (e.g. taking data with Arduinos) in the following areas:
- MedicalRobotics
- SpaceRobotics
- UnderwaterManipulation
- Students interested in what's going on at BDML are invited to the open BDML meetings
- Students interested more generally in Robotics are invited to the Robotics Seminar (can be taken as 1 unit elective: ENGR 319)
Appointments
I am using Calendly for advising meetings. In-person is ideal, but if that is not possible we can set up a meeting on my personal Zoom.
For longer meetings (although these are harder to book) there is a second Calendly link
