  • Finished laser cutting the different materials this morning. Took pictures and measurements of them under the microscope. Both the cellophane and the card stock held circular holes well. John showed me how to make the silicone mixture for the stocks. Then we molded them using the cellophane mold.
  • On Tuesday (06/21/11) Barrett showed me how to use the laser cutter, and gave me a some different materials to cut molds for the silicone posts into. Laser cut molds will be much faster to make than the block molds that have to be milled. Tried different combinations of speed, power, and focus on the laser cutter. The yellow cellophane worked best.
  • Spent Monday (06/20/11) getting oriented in the lab. Got a brief introduction to each project. I am working on the skin for the hand. I am working on the mold for the silicone posts within the capacitors for the hand's skin.
